In Patricia Mackie’s home, there are no timeouts. Her children never cry themselves to sleep, and discipline is different from punishment. Mackie uses a philosophy called Attachment Parenting to guide how she and her husband care for Delilah, who’s almost 3, and Asher, 8 months. “It just feels right.
